About International Relations, BA - at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU)
China's economic growth has coincided with processes of globalisation over the past three decades. As this growth continues there will be a need for more specialised understanding of the country's growing socio-economic interactions with the rest of the world. This degree programme aims to deepen such knowledge and understanding, and to produce the entrepreneurial and managerial leaders of the future who will bring China to the world and the world to China.
Why should I study International Relations at XJTLU?
- Understanding of China's place in the world;
- Knowledge of foreign cultures and languages;
- Students will specialise in the study of one other country and will spend one semester there as part of the degree programme.
This programme is awaiting final approval from the University of Liverpool.
Knowledge and skills
By the time you graduate from BA International Relations, you will have:
- language skills: Spanish or Japanese will be studied as additional languages if the required standard is reached in both Chinese and English.
- knowledge of other countries and societies through both study, and lived experience in a country of specialisation
- specialist knowledge of China's interactions with other parts of the world, other countries' involvement in China, and world structures of business, trade, and investment.
