About European Basketball Coaching Science MSc, MSc - at University of Worcester

This unique course enables current practitioners to develop their conceptual and theoretical understanding in the field of Basketball Coaching Science.

The delivery of the course will focus upon an innovative approach that will involve teaching in both Worcester and Lithuania and will take two years to complete. Lectures and seminars will strategically take place at mid and end of the playing season, whilst online classes and tutorials will be available throughout the year.

This course provides students with a unique opportunity to combine studies with elite sports activities, and enables current practitioners to develop their conceptual and theoretical understanding in the field of Basketball Coaching Science. It will be of interest to coaches, senior players, coach educators and students throughout Europe who have an interest in developing the game and players.

Practical skills in a range of scientific disciplines will be further developed in order to enhance the coaching process, and you will be able to critically reflect upon contemporary principles and practices in basketball coaching. The course offers an exchange of methods of basketball practice that exists throughout Europe and provides students with fundamental theoretical knowledge and research skills.

A range of learning styles and activities will be employed, focussing on student engagement and the development of independent learning. These include:

Distance learning

Learning will be structured around small group seminars led by tutors who will introduce a wealth of advanced and applied material. Sessions will encourage you to participate fully and to share your knowledge and experiences. Students will be encouraged to develop critical, reflective and analytical skills in an environment of open debate and discussion.
