Course Overview

Learners will be expected to critically analyse their work to identify learning undertaken normally over a period of at least five years. A portfolio of evidence reflecting the learning experience will be produced and justified according to set criteria.

Assessment

(a) Portfolio Evidencing Prior Learning

The portfolio will consist of:

  • an annotated CV describing the learner's work based activities (career and qualifications)
  • an annotated job description;
  • a portfolio of learning experience supported by evidence

(b) Reflective essay

A reflective essay based upon the experience of compiling the portfolio element, analysing, synthesising and critically evaluating their own learning experiences. Reflection will also identify strategies for increasing the impact of this learning on their own practice and that of others in the workplace.

Further Information

You will be required to attend two teaching days at which you will meet your personal academic advisor/tutor. The induction will include an introduction to the module, activities to identify personal learning and the provision of learning material to support development of the portfolio. The additional day will include teaching sessions and further engagement with the requirements of the portfolio and the reflective essay. Additional tutorial support and action planning will be agreed with your tutor.

No formal entry requirements, however in order to be able to achieve this module learners will need to have at least five years of working experience from which to draw
