About Human Factors in the Workplace, Short Course - at University of Wales Trinity Saint David
Course Overview
This course covers the interaction of the operator with the process and the equipment, (e.g. training and competence, alarm handling and ergonomics), performance-influencing factors, human failure analysis and human failure in incident investigation. Legal requirements and best practices, along with the HSE's 10 key human factor topics and communication between working parties, will be discussed.

This course will allow you to analyse the human factor in safety performance and incidents, and improve the performance of your organisation.

Assessment
A written assignment equivalent to 1500 words outlining the learner's role and responsibilities within process safety at their place of work.
Further Information
You will be required to attend two half-day teaching sessions at the Carmarthen Campus. These days will provide you with a secure foundation for your study. Throughout this module you will be supported by a Tutor. This support can either be face-to-face, via telephone, email or Skype - or a mix of all these. You will be required to complete the module within three months of the induction.
