Course Overview

  • Leadership skills include planning, communication, motivation and performance, power and politics, influence, creativity and problem solving, negotiation and performance.
  • Functions of leadership may include reference to planning, briefing, motivating, directing, mentoring, coordinating, monitoring, coaching, empowering and developing a team.
  • Theories and Styles of leadership
  • Organisational culture and ethics

Assessment

Exemplar:

A personal evaluation which explains how leadership styles and skills can be seen as a major influencing factor within the workplace. The evaluation will also explore your leadership styles and skills and their effectiveness within your role.

Further Information

You will be required to attend three teaching days at the Carmarthen campus. These days will provide you with a secure foundation to begin your study. Throughout this module you will be supported by a Tutor. This support can either be face-to-face, via telephone, e-mail or Skype - or a mix of all these.
