Course overview
Course Overview
The MPhil in the business field is awarded in recognition of successful completion of a programme of advanced study and research. The results will be judged to constitute a critical evaluation and analysis of a body of knowledge. It should also reflect an original contribution to knowledge or learning.
Key Features
The MPhil is the traditional way to achieve a research masters. It requires clear focus, self-discipline and dedication to complete research and produce the thesis.
Practicing managers or more recent graduates (including those from non-business disciplines) might consider the MBA as an alternative, which is studied in modules and allows an integrated way to achieve general business masters which is geared to their workplace experience.
Modules
MPhil entrants will need to attend an induction to advanced study and research. They must also attend a Research Methodology Workshop.
Thereafter the student with supervision will produce a thesis of the specialist topic identified in their research proposal.
