Course fee notes

International tuition fees are 14,000 Euros per year. The University also offers generous scholarships as tuition fee waivers up to 6,000 Euros available across both years of study.

You do not have to pay tuition fee if you:

  • are an EU/EEA citizen
  • are equivalent to an EU/EEA citizen (i.e. citizen of Switzerland)
  • have a permanent residence permit (type P)
  • have an EU Blue Card
  • have a continuous residence permit in Finland for purposes other than studies. However, please note that in the following cases the tuition fee is charged:
    • If the first residence permit in Finland was granted for the purpose of studying, tuition fees must be paid, even if a type A permit is later obtained on other grounds.
    • If the type A permit is based on family ties, and the family member originally came to Finland on a residence permit granted for studying, tuition fees are required.
    • If the type A permit is granted for studying, tuition fees are required.

Course overview

The Master’s Degree Programme in Accounting and Auditing aims to equip students with advanced knowledge, analytical skills, and practical expertise in financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance in relation to sustainability issues.  The Programme develops a deep understanding of international accounting standards, auditing, financial management, and ethical considerations in financial decision-making.  Graduates will be prepared to proceed in professional accounting and auditing roles, and support sustainable business practices in a dynamic global economy. Through a close link of theoretical foundations and practical applications, the Programme develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills that are essential for success in the accounting profession.


The Master’s Degree Programme in Accounting and Auditing combines in-depth theoretical knowledge with practical workplace skills that will prepare students for demanding management, planning and analytical roles in the business world. The growing internationalization of accounting and auditing is also reflected in studies designed to meet the challenges of global business. Upon completion of the Master’s Degree Programme in Accounting and Auditing, graduates will develop the following learning outcomes:

  • Knowledge of their field of study: demonstrate in-depth knowledge of key theories in the field of
    study and apply research findings in practice and/or decision-making;
  • Academic and analytical skills: analyze relevant research in the field, identify topics for further
    research and potential innovations; apply analytical thinking and use appropriate methods to solve
    business problems;
  • Communication skills: communicate effectively orally and in writing, also using digital
    communication tools and apply these skills in national and international environment;
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively in groups and use feedback in self-assessment;
  • Sustainability and ethics: assess different dimensions of sustainability and ethical issues in
    accounting and auditing.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Accounting and Auditing has been acknowledged as incorporating CIMA qualification guidelines and is eligible for the CIMA Master's gateway route. That means that the program covers the core knowledge, skills, and abilities generally accepted and applied by accounting and auditing professionals globally.

The intensive 2-year programme consists of 120 ECTS and earns you a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration degree.
