Course overview
It's not just the psychoanalytic tradition of literary criticism that makes English Literature and Psychology a natural combination, for the two disciplines make natural partners in all sorts of ways.
Both subjects involve the appliance of method and reason to emotion and character, both make use of abstract theories and concepts that sometimes require critical self-reflection to understand, and both disciplines can only truly be understood by those who remember that they are fundamentally about the human condition.
Mastering that balance of the academic and the personal is what this Major/Minor combination will challenge you to do.
