This degree aims to enable students to complete a postgraduate program that will lead to an advanced level of knowledge in a specialised area of engineering. The graduate certificate of engineering technology (civil engineering) is ideal for engineers or scientists who have a three-year degree in science, engineering or technology and want to extend their knowledge of civil engineering. Through this four unit degree, students have the option to select from a range of courses (subjects) which will empower them to plan, design, construct and maintain infrastructure. Courses include geotechnical engineering, structural analysis, road and street engineering and concrete structures. Students could take the credit from their studies and go on to complete the master of engineering technology. As a civil engineering graduate, students could work in construction, structural, transport or water supply distribution engineering. Students experience could land them a job in some of the largest construction projects in the engineering world.
