About Master of Engineering Practice (MEPR) (Mechanical Engineering), Master Degree - at University of Southern Queensland

This program aims to enable experienced engineering technologists to demonstrate, or acquire and demonstrate, their attainment of the academic, personal, professional, and technical knowledge, skills and understanding required to commence practice as a graduate professional engineer in Australia or overseas within appropriate social, cultural, industrial and environmental contexts. Right from the beginning students will be able to use the knowledge and skills they have already gained in the workplace to complete their first year core units. Through self-assessment and workplace portfolios students will demonstrate how they may already meet engineers Australia's competencies and identify the technical courses they need to complete in order to graduate. This program enables students to travel or work while studying and allows them to adapt their study to their life. Students will build upon their prior knowledge in mechanical engineering with advanced studies in areas such as computational mechanics in design, fluid mechanics and materials technology. Their capstone course will see them work as part of a student team developing the practical skills such as flow visualisation and measuring the velocity of fluids in the state-of-the-art laboratories. Through this program students will gain the eligibility to apply for membership as a professional engineer with engineers Australia. They will also have the opportunity to work overseas, with their accreditation recognised in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Ireland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa.
