Course overview
USQ's Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) enables those with a Bachelor degree in a field other than education to become a primary school teacher, providing they meet all other entry requirements. You will gain an extensive understanding of primary school teaching in Queensland and advanced and comprehensive master's level degree will allow you to graduate with a high degree of employability.
There is an option to complete the degree full-time or part-time, on-campus or online. We also accept mid-year entry.
If you are looking to become a secondary school teacher, you may like to consider the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching (Secondary).
Professional experience
There are 60 days of supervised professional experience placements and 20 days of an unsupervised internship at a 50 percent teaching load in a primary school or other approved educational context. You will have the opportunity to undertake some of your professional experience overseas. There is also the opportunity to complete some of your practical experience in regional and Indigenous locations.
Professional accreditation
Graduates of the Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) are eligible to apply to the Queensland College of Teachers for teacher registration.
