Course overview

The Graduate Certificate of Science (Applied Data Science) gives you the opportunity to gain skills in the newly emerging field of Data Science (otherwise known as Big Data). A dynamic and increasingly progressive field, Big Data focuses on understanding and overcoming the challenges associated with capturing, storing, transferring, searching, sorting and interpreting large amounts of data.

The certificate will provide you with basic and essential knowledge in the area of data science and is ideal for graduates with a non-science or non-mathematics background interested in improving their skills to enhance or change careers.

Semester 2 part time intake for Applied Data Science specialisation is only available to students who have completed CSC1401 and STA2300 in their Bachelor degrees. Some students may take 1.5 years to complete.

Further study

Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Science (Applied Data Science) can give you credit from your studies to the Graduate Diploma of Science (Applied Data Science).
