About Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise (GCSE), Graduate Diploma - at University of Southern Queensland

The Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise is designed for students who wish to advance their skills in the areas of health, fitness and sports performance. This degree has a focus on developing health and fitness of people across their whole lifespan, including those with chronic disease and disability. The Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise is also an excellent opportunity for those already working within the health, sport and exercise industry to advance their career, use it as a pathway to further learning, or as a start to a career in this exciting and fast-paced industry. As a graduate of the Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise students could work as a sports coach, gym manager, recreation officer, personal trainer, sports development officer, sports performance director, medical company representative, sports scientist or sport manager or work within sports tourism. This degree also prepares students for career advancement if they are already working within the industry. Depending on other qualifications and experience, membership of professional associations such as the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) is available.
