About Professional Practice (Health Care Studies), BSc (Hons) - at University of South Wales
The BSc (Hons) Professional Practice (Health Care Studies) is a flexible top-up degree course for any registered health professional such as a physiotherapist, social worker, occupational therapist, nurse, midwife, complimentary therapist or podiatrist.
It allows students who have a diploma or equivalent to work towards graduate status over a number of years whilst still working in practice. It provides practitioners with the opportunity to pursue a continuing programme of professional education and development which enhances their ability to function as efficient and effective members of their professions.
A key aspect of the Professional Practice course is the development of leadership abilities and analytical thinking skills. These will allow you to explore competence, critically examine your own efficiency and effectiveness in an evolving clinical environment, and challenge current practice.
What's more, you will develop the ability to critically appraise research and other types of evidence used to inform clinical practice. The Professional Practice qualification offers good scope for career progression, and our graduates tend to lead service developments and enhance care practice, management and delivery.
