About Computer Security (Including Foundation Year), BSc (Hons) - at University of South Wales

If you don't have the right grades to enrol directly onto our BSc (Hons) Computer Security degree, this BCS-accredited course offers an alternative route with an additional foundation year. This extra introductory year will give you the grounding you need to begin degree-level study. The foundation year focuses on the study of computing and mathematics in order to provide a good numerical background that will support you throughout the remainder of the degree.

The BSc (Hons) Computer Security degree has a practical emphasis to prepare you for a career in computer security. You'll understand how computer systems are designed and secured, and learn how to protect them against all kinds of attacks.

Your studies will cover effective computer systems management and how to complete an effective IT health check. You will also have the opportunity to achieve CompTIA Security+ certification as part of your studies.
