Electronic and electrical engineering is a dynamic and wide-ranging discipline, central to many of the technologies that underpin modern life. You will build a strong foundation through core teaching that reflects the school’s active research strengths, while tailoring your learning to match your individual interests and career aspirations.
With a broad portfolio of advanced optional modules to choose from, you can shape your degree in a way that suits you best - either by maintaining a broad-based approach or by specialising in a focused area. Specialist areas available include power electronics and electrical machines, semiconductor and photonic engineering, digital electronics and advanced computing and mobile and data communications. In addition to taught modules, you will undertake an individual research project, working alongside world-class academics and using state-of-the-art facilities. The project provides an opportunity to apply your knowledge to a real engineering problem, often in collaboration with industry or research centres.
