Course overview
The School of History is one of the most popular in the UK and has strengths across the whole range of periods in European history, currently from 500 AD to 1998. It covers a wide geographical spectrum, with specialists in Russian, German, French and Italian history, as well as specialists in British history. The school encourages interdisciplinary work and has a large number of joint-honours students.
When it was reviewed by the Higher Education Funding Council of England in 2003, the School of History received top ratings in teaching and learning, student progression, and learning resources on its undergraduate and Masters-level.
