Course overview

The University of Northern British Columbia offers a range of B.Sc. degrees for students wishing to pursue interests in biology. Degrees in biological sciences are housed within the College of Science and Management and involve courses taught by faculty members with biological interests within the Biology, Forestry, Environmental Studies, Geography and Chemistry Programs.

BSc degrees range from traditional fields of Biology within the Biology Major, and more applied studies within the Natural Resource Management (NRM) majors.

The BSc in Biology explores major concepts in biology from molecular to community levels. Emphasis is placed on northern ecosystems and the adaptations and adjustments of northern and temperate-climate plants and animals to natural and disturbed environments.

By combining the Biology major with a minor, students can further customize their undergraduate degree by increasing focus (e.g., biochemistry minor) or increasing interdisciplinarity (e.g., minors in First Nations Studies, Geography or Anthropology).

Want to study for your graduate degree? We offer Masters and PhD programs at UNBC too.
