About Microelectronic Systems, MSc(Eng) - at University of Liverpool
On this programme, which is available full- or part-time, you'll study microelectronic systems at an advanced level.
Programme content is updated annually to maintain industry relevance and to incorporate the latest advances.
The programme starts in late September each year and features two semesters of lectures, laboratory classes and seminars, with a third devoted to an individually supervised project.
The programme is built around a core of compulsory subjects examining:-
- large digital system design
- the hardware and software aspects of microprocessor systems
- integrated circuit design
In addition you can choose from a wide range of options to reflect your interests. Subjects typically include:
- optical fibre communications and sensing
- image processing and pattern recognition
- neural fuzzy systems.
Your final project accounts for 75 credits, including 15 allocated to coursework relating to report writing skills.
The project is examined by dissertation. You'll need to show an in-depth understanding of your topic, mastery of research techniques and the ability to analyse assembled data and assess outcomes.
