Course overview

The University of Liverpool Management School is one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to be AACSB-Accredited.

This MSc programme will give you a firm foundation in Finance, Financial Economics and Empirical Finance. It's designed for new graduates, career changers and financial professionals looking to increase their expertise.

You'll become well-versed in applying modern financial and economic techniques, including modelling, to the needs of the financial sectors, government agencies and academic research.

This 12-month programme consists of seven taught compulsory modules plus one taught elective module, followed by a research project carried out over the summer period upon completion of Semester Two.


Entry requirements

First degree from an approved university UK 2:1 or International equivalent for student with Bachelor's degress in Finance, Accounting and Economics. Exceptional candidates with 1st Class degrees in other subjects (with significant component of finance) will be considered. Students who lack the usual academic qualifications but have appropriate professional qualifications (with good grades), will be considered individually with merit. Grades in modules relevant to Finance must average 2:1 (particular emphasis will be placed in final-year finance modules). International qualifications Applications from international students are welcomed. International qualifications will be evaluated in line with the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) guidelines. English language qualifications All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language, and are required to provide evidence of this. Qualifications accepted by the University include GCSE English; GCE O level English; AS Level English; A Level English Language; IELTS; TOEFL; Cambridge Proficiency etc. Please see www.liv.ac.uk/international/countries/index.htm for a full list. If you meet our other academic requirements but do not achieve the required level of English, it is possible to come and study at Liverpool on the University’s summer academic English programmes.
