Cross-Border Studies is a degree programme in the field of linguistics and cultural studies. The programme focuses on an East or Southeast European language of your choice. You also learn or deepen your knowledge of a second language; here you can choose from German, English or Italian. Hence, the programme offers you a transcultural exploration of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures (Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, Serbian, Russian, Slovenian) and of their interaction with the Romance and/or German-speaking and/or Anglophone world.

The degree programme in Cross-Border Studies is interdisciplinary, with strong practical relevance and opens up new perspectives on culture and society. Cross-Border Studies instils networked thinking and the ability to reflect and deals with the social prerequisites and dimensions of language and culture.
