Course overview
This programme would suit you if you are interested in the application of science to coaching in sport. It provides a strong foundation in the current disciplines of sport science, the principles of which can be applied to the coaching elements of the programme. A main objective is to give you the skills to work effectively in a range of areas related to sports science, particularly in the coaching profession.
Football club internshipDuring all three years of the degree students will have the opportunity of a structured internship with Charlton Athletic FC in either coaching or sport science.
OutcomesThe aims of the programme are:
- To develop an enquiring analytical approach to the study of science and coaching in your chosen sport
- To develop your ability to evaluate and enhance sport and performance in the field and the scientific laboratory
- To develop the knowledge and skill base necessary for independent learning
- To provide theoretical, practical and vocational experiences relevant to the field of study.
