About Investment and Financial Management, MSc - at University of East Anglia (UEA)

Study

This course has four unique characteristics: professional relevance and employability, broad input with global output, immersion in state-of-the-art knowledge when working directly with members of the Accounting, Finance and Governance (AFG) research group, and a systematic learning approach where students are encouraged to ask interesting questions, challenge incorrect assumptions/conventional wisdom and better exploit technology.

The course requires no prior knowledge of business or finance and begins by building a solid understanding of basic business concepts, functions, roles and decisions which cuts through disciplines. The MIFM is applied in nature and a proud member of the prestigious CFA Institute University Recognition programme.

Structure

Teaching is provided by members of academic staff, often in a relatively informal learning environment, with programmes incorporating lectures, seminars, and practical work. Assessment is usually by essays and other written assignments, written or oral examinations, and projects.

Teaching

You are taught by leading academics and professionals that are at the forefront of research, practice and policy in corporate and investment finance. Learning in applied subject areas is lab and coursework-based using software, tools and real data.

Employability
