Course overview

Studying Mechanical Engineering will give you an in-depth technical training and professional accreditation to practice as a Mechanical Engineer.

You will explore engineering design and take part in practical sessions at local manufacturing companies. There’s an emphasise on operating principles throughout this course, and design of mechanical systems such as wind turbines, thermal pumps and solar energy technologies.

In your final year there will be a large element of independent study through projects and lab work. This will be based around renewable energy and power generation systems. You will also have the opportunity to gain project management skills, helping you develop your employability skills once you graduate.
