Course overview
The aim of the course is to prepare you to be a well-informed and confident leader of practice in your setting. You will study two units over the academic year, one to help you develop as an Early Years researcher in an area of particular interest to you, and the other to investigate current issues and debates and consider how these impacts on your work. In particular, you will explore different approaches to leadership, and apply different theorisations to your experience at work.
The units inter-relate. Your learning on one unit will feed into your learning on the other, and both will draw on and shape your own practice with young children in Early Years contexts.
You will be supported to develop a particular aspect of practice to meet one of your setting’s current priorities. You will develop a rationale for the choices you make with links to different theories and consider how you would present this to a range of stakeholders.
