Course overview
Interested in television and radio journalism? This is the course for you. Our students have gone straight off to work with the BBC, Tristar, Incisive TV and Endemol or headed off to do Masters degrees in London and New York.
You’ll be taught by staff with decades worth of experience in industry and you’ll be producing your own news from the start. You’ll not only write for our own news website but you will be broadcasting the news on our community radio station RadioLab and for our TV news programme, UoB Today.
You’ll need a good nose for stories, a love of writing and editing and an ability to keep cool under pressure. You will also develop your powers of critical analysis, studying the ethics and the theories that underpin the industry, whilst reading the latest research.
Your final assessment will be a piece of broadcast or online journalism which will show off all your skills and which could be your stepping stone to that dream first job.
