Why study this program?
This program is jointly offered by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine and focuses on the study of the physiological system that prevents or limits attack by infectious organisms. This is a broadly based program that considers the full range of host responses to pathogens that occur in living organisms. The diversity of infectious agents and their adaptations in response to host immune systems will be central to the program. Techniques and skills used in studying immunology and infection are microscopy, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genomics and proteomics.
This program is also offered as a BSc Honors degree.

The Bachelor of Science with Major is a highly customizable degree program with a wide breadth of topics to study. The degree includes an optional minor or double major. This flexibility allows students to design their degree around two areas of interest, or choose to focus on only one area. Students have the option to keep their program broad or delve deeper into a discipline of their choice. Your minor can be chosen from 60+ subjects, including many offered by the Faculty of Arts, Native Studies, Business or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences.
