Course overview

Successful global fashion designers need to know how to create their brand identity, produce an incredible collection and promote it for the international market.

Our new MA Fashion Design course provides you with the opportunity to develop your collection, explore ways to externalise your practice and gain skills that are essential for a new fashion designer.

As a student of this course, you will create a collection and devise an appropriate marketing and promotion campaign and online presence ready for market.

This unique new Masters degree provides you with a creative and supportive environment to launch your own collection and brand identity and to master skills in collection design management.

The course is ideal for students who want to launch their own collection and brand and to master their skills in collection design management and promotion – skills that are essential for a new fashion design initiative.

The course will support you in developing your practice through relevant research, a deep understanding of how the fashion industry operates, and engagement with global fashion brands, in order to plan and produce a major project that is unique to you.

The course also offers both a nurturing learning environment and a strong business-facing culture, enriched by our close connections with the fashion industry, and you’ll develop the skills needed to work at a high level in fashion design when you graduate.

The course bridges the gap between creativity, the practical skills and knowledges needed to be a successful fashion business; you’ll take the next steps with your work, analysing your collection, making appropriate changes for the intended market through to brand image and identity.

Taught at our Rochester campus, the course will give you access to extensive resources such as our digital studios and ample workshop spaces. You’ll also be able to use state of the art digital and traditional workshops and resources, extensive fashion production resources.
