Overview of the university

University College Groningen, one of the ten faculties of the University of Groningen, offers a bachelors degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences and is taught entirely in English. Being a demanding and intense degree where you get to enjoy the freedom to think outside of the box, your studies will focus around these important themes of our times: Energy, Healthy Ageing and the Sustainable Society. In your second year of studies, you will pick your major specialisation within the areas of Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.

You will study in a beautifully renovated building with plenty of learning space, equipped with the latest technology, as well as a library, self-catering kitchen and lounge area to relax in.

Groningen has a very youthful population, where students make up around one quarter of the city's 195,000 residents. With the city’s many bars, restaurants, theatres, museums and sports facilities, you will never be bored. But if you do feel like leaving the vibrant city life, the countryside is never far away. Take a breath of air and clear your head while enjoying the flat landscape and limitless view in all directions when you get nearer to the ‘Wadden Sea’.
