About Musical Arts, BA (Hons) - at United International College (Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University)

Founded in 2020, the Music Performance is a programme of the Division of Culture and Creativity. The programme focuses on training musicians, providing opportunities for them to develop a variety of professional skills and understandings across a range of practical and theoretical aspects of music.

A four-year comprehensive study provides students with advanced skills and deep knowledge of instrumental playing and helps them become creative graduates with an international outlook and extensive skill sets.

The programme cultivates future professionals and leaders in the cultural and creative industries in China and the world. These leaders also develop social consciousness and personal skills in a global environment that meet the market demands. These characteristics contribute to the future success of the liberal arts education pioneered by UIC.

Course overview

  • The core programme is taught in English, including all the essential courses found in reputable universities and music institutions worldwide that allow graduates to get further studies abroad.
  • Taught by an international faculty, the teachers come from Australia, America and other countries. Moreover, this strong teaching team helps students develop advanced skills in performance that enable them to distinguish themselves in their future careers.
  • The programme provides world-class facilities, such as well-equipped practice rooms with complete series of Steinway pianos, Pro Tools recording and media studios. Acoustic superb performance venues include rehearsal studios and various concert halls to provide students with the best facilities and environment to practice and perform.
  • Reasonable teacher-student ratio: the liberal art education of UIC focuses on a full range of care and service for students in terms of learning, life, family, psychological, career development. There are many opportunities for students to pursue interdisciplinary project work with arts, science and commerce programmes, aiming to nurture graduates with global vision, developing their advanced critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills through a comprehensive study.
