Course overview

The course educates students in the practice of Nuclear Medicine and associated research techniques, and would allow qualified radiographers/technologists to specialise in Nuclear Medicine. It is designed to give a solid academic base in the understanding of, and a high level of practical experience in, Nuclear Medicine techniques and in the safe use and management of radioisotopes. It also provides a thorough training in the methods of research.

The course is timetabled to facilitate students in fulltime employment, and is primarily a research oriented degree, which also includes both taught and practical components.

Students are examined on the basis of written papers, a logbook incorporating clinical case studies and practical experiments (Diploma only) and a dissertation on an approved topic (MSc. only).
