Course fee notes

The Student Finance service provides student loans to help pay for tuition fees and the cost of living, depending on your circumstances.

You'll be charged interest on your loan as soon as you take it out, but you only start repayments once you earn more than a certain amount - currently £21,000.

Repayments are based on how much you earn, not how much you've borrowed.

Course overview

This blended learning module will:

Prepare pharmacists to prescribe as independent and supplementary prescribers

Enable successful students to record their prescribing qualification with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Enable pharmacists to study alongside other healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills

Enable pharmacists to gain critical awareness of contemporary issues in order to become safe, competent and effective prescribers, within current legal and professional guidelines

It consists of:

8 taught days

E-learning modules equivalent to 8 taught days

10 days individualised guided study

12 x 7.5 hour days (90 hours) supervised clinical practice

Learning opportunities are facilitated by a wide range of experienced healthcare professionals including pharmacists, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and radiographers. Our course has been commended by past students for the excellent tutor support.
