Physics combines analytical reasoning and problem solving using the language of mathematics to understand the universe. If you have a deep desire to understand how everything works, from the subatomic quantum world to the vastness of the cosmos, then the BSc Physics degree at Swansea is the course for you.

Our four-year BSc Physics with integrated foundation degree is suitable for students who do not have the necessary qualifications to directly start the three-year degree. It prepares you for the rigours of the BSc and has been developed to expand your core competencies in Physics and Mathematics.

  • Our groups in Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory, Applied Materials, and the ALPHA anti-matter collaboration with close ties to CERN, ensure that our teaching is informed by the latest research. Students have the opportunity to do a summer internship at CERN and undertake final year projects with any of our major research groups.
