Course overview
MSc Mechanical Engineering provides a comprehensive understanding of modern mechanical engineering techniques, presenting examples from different disciplines and industries.
This course offers excellent future prospects and is ideal if you have completed an undergraduate degree and wish to develop your knowledge before seeking employment.
You will cover subjects including mechanical engineering tools, problem solving techniques, formulation of experimental data and real world applications. Your research project will have high industrial relevance.
You have the opportunity to do an additional year for an Industry Placement or project, giving you valuable work experience.
Entry requirements
This course is only available to international students.
Usually, the entry requirements for the MSc Mechanical Engineering course is a 2:1 honours degree (or above) in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar relevant engineering or science discipline (for example, physics or mathematics). If English is not your first language you will need an acceptable pass in an approved English Language qualification to make sure you get the full benefit from studying at Swansea. We consider a wide range of qualifications, including the Swansea University English Test, the British Council IELTS test (with a score of at least 6.5 and 5.5 in each component).
