Course overview
Normal requirements are at least a UK second class honours degree or equivalent in a related computing discipline
If you do not meet the above but have significant appropriate experience, your application will be considered, provided that you satisfy the University that you are capable of responding to the challenge of postgraduate work.
If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that you are fluent enough to cope with the course. A minimum score of IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based) is normally required.
Entry requirements
- To apply for the course you will need a minimum 2:2 honours degree, at least 50% in an appropriate subject. However, we currently offer an 8 week Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course for people who do not have this level of qualification.
- Mathematics and English GCSE grade C qualifications.
- A good general education.
- QTS tests in Numeracy and Literacy must be passed before commencement of the course. Ideally these should be taken either before interview or within 6 weeks of an offer.
- You will also need to demonstrate a good understanding of the education system gained from work or placement in schools or experience of working with secondary school aged pupils.
- You will be required to successfully complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application and be certified fit to teach.
- We recommend you submit a well considered personal statement on the UCAS application form as this is a key part of the short listing process.
