Advanced Practice - Radiotherapy and Oncology Sheffield Hallam University

This course gives occupational therapists the opportunity to develop their personal and professional capacity to practise at an advanced level. You will explore leadership, clinical governance, professional education and research. You learn through keynote lectures and a series of seminars, presentations and professional debates. You are encouraged to inform the debate and discuss current policy, new theoretical perspectives and drives towards changing practice. Professional occupational therapists with a specific area of expertise give keynote lectures and lead discussions. The PgCert is made up of core and optional modules which allow you to develop a programme of study to meet your personal and professional needs. Associated careers This course is for practising occupational therapists and improves your knowledge and understanding of your profession. It may help towards advancing your career prospects with your current employer, or with a new one. Assessment A range of assessments will be taken depending on the module. These may include essays and case studies but must relate to a personal and professional area of interest. Course content Modules developing occupational therapy practice research for the working world plus one from: principles of occupation context of vocational rehabilitation other module from one of our continuing development courses If you take context of vocational rehabilitation as an option you can progress to the MSc/PgDip Vocational Rehabilitation. Entry requirements You must have a recognised occupational therapy qualification.
