Course overview
IT and communications are the most important drivers of change in organisations. They produce intense and rapid change. Often an organisation's success or failure relies on how effectively it uses existing and emerging technologies.
We designed this course in partnership with employers to produce the hybrid managers organisations need to design, implement and manage IT systems that shape their future.
You develop skills and knowledge in * management * marketing * finance * the latest technologies. These make sure you are well prepared for a career in business consultancy or IT management.
Each year you study six modules covering * emerging technology * business context * management * personal and professional skills.
Teaching is by lectures, seminars and workshops. This involves teamwork on problem solving tasks and group and individual assignments. Many modules are supported using Blackboard, our interactive web-based learning environment. Blackboard provides co-ordinated access to learning materials, conferencing and computer-aided assessment.
You gain a real understanding of the business context, which reduces the time companies have to spend training graduates.
A valuable third year work placement gives you real world experience and improves your career prospects. It enables you to hit the floor running when you graduate.
We design all our courses to improve your employability, and this course gives you a head start in your career. The hybrid managers this course produces have career opportunities in many areas.
