Course overview
Around the world, the task of Internet Technology and Communications specialists is that of understanding and administrating exceedingly complex communication systems in order to ensure elastic and sustainable operation.
The RTU is providing students with the professional skills needed to enter a successful career in the field of telecommunications as a highly trained technology specialist able to delve within the realms of the research and development professional.
The academic programme focuses both on theory and practice and includes innovative solutions, the know-how of new technology development and industry trends.
This Masters’ study programme provides a blend of knowledge from electrical engineering and computer science, building upon the solid foundation achieved during Bachelor studies.
The aim of the programme is to provide to the workplace a Master Engineer of the highest standard or alternatively the skills required to continue with further studies at the Doctoral level.
Entry requirements
All International students, if English is not their first language, are required to provide a proof of English language knowledge. The following methods are acceptable:
IELTS – a minimum overall grade of 6.0, Please note that IELTS test score is valid 2 years only and older tests are not accepted;
TOEFL (iBT)- a minimum overall score 75. TOEFL institutional code for Riga Technical University is 8498. Please note that TOEFL iBT test score is valid 2 years only and older tests are not accepted;
Present a letter confirming that previous education was in English;
