Course overview
The Master study programme offered by the Institute of Applied Linguistics is aimed at professionals, academics and researchers working in the field of Technical Translation.
The programme is designed to advance theoretical knowledge of both native and foreign languages and the translation process.
The acquired knowledge is used in practise during fieldwork. The programme provides a strong foundation for further scientific research and Doctoral Studies.
The academic personnel consist of both highly trained practicing professionals and recognized scientists, who published a variety of scientific articles and books.
Entry requirements
All International students, if English is not their first language, are required to provide a proof of English language knowledge. The following methods are acceptable:
IELTS – a minimum overall grade of 6.0, Please note that IELTS test score is valid 2 years only and older tests are not accepted;
TOEFL (iBT)- a minimum overall score 75. TOEFL institutional code for Riga Technical University is 8498. Please note that TOEFL iBT test score is valid 2 years only and older tests are not accepted;
Present a letter confirming that previous education was in English;
