Course overview
BA (Hons) Fashion is the study and development of wearable media. This innovative course offers designers of the future the opportunity to study fashion design with a focus on the use and application of new technology.
This course is about creating designers with industry-ready skills and a firm grasp of concept development. We encourage our students to think about their design signature from the start of their studies and we work with each individual to oversee their growth as a designer. Using our digital workshops, students are encouraged to explore new digital technologies such as 3D printing, digital print, digital embroidery, laser cutting, and the Lectra CAD/CAM design management system. You will learn through a mix of practice and theory and will be supported by teaching staff and visiting professionals from the fashion industry.
Fashion designers most often work within menswear, womenswear, textile design, creative cutting, product development, CAD/CAM processes, professional spec. drawing, and tech pack production.
