About Social Justice, Development and Health, MSc - at Queen Margaret University

This course will attract social science graduates, development practitioners, civil society activists and others who have an interest in issues such as social justice, rights, equity and social exclusion and their effects on the health and wellbeing of people in developing countries.

The course will enable you to work effectively at a senior level to advocate for social justice and promote the well-being of disadvantaged, excluded and vulnerable populations in a variety of contexts. Specifically, the course will give you the opportunity to:

undertake advanced study of social justice, development and health interactions, drawing on a range of related disciplines such as anthropology, health policy, management studies, psychology, public health and sociology;

  • engage in debates examining current and future trends affecting the health and social wellbeing of disadvantaged, excluded and vulnerable populations;
  • engage critically and reflexively in a range of social bodies as both professionals and citizens and
  • enhance their lifelong learning and personal development skills.
