Our MB BS degree uses an integrated case-led teaching approach.

From the very start of your degree, you will receive clinically focused teaching from our highly trained staff.

This helps you develop core medical knowledge, professional behaviour and clinical competence through:

  • a varied menu of early clinical experience
  • contact with patients and visits to GPs and hospitals
  • skills development in our dedicated Clinical Skills Laboratory

In years 1 and 2 you will study key subject areas including medical sciences, clinical skills, ethics and professionalism. We use a series of clinical cases to contextualise your learning.

In years 3 to 5 you'll gain significant clinical experience through placements in the region. This develops your specialist knowledge, skills and professional behaviour, preparing you for your future career.

We are a Regional Medical School and have partnerships with the Northern Region NHS. The large patient population (3.5 million) means you will have access to excellent training opportunities.
