We live in a fast-moving and ever-changing geopolitical world. Delivered by a field-leading team of experts, this programme equips you with the 21st-century skills and knowledge needed to understand global events and enhance your career prospects.
Through interactive sessions, including class discussions and debates, you'll be encouraged to explore the causes of international developments and consider potential solutions. You'll examine how changes in international relations shape real-world events, while developing strong critical and analytical skills in areas such as diplomacy, intelligence, security and policymaking. With guest lecturers and visits to international organisations in London, you'll gain the relevant experience and leadership skills you need for a role in global politics and international affairs.
We welcome and support students from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. You may have previously studied International Relations, hold a related degree, or be entirely new to the subject and looking to change the direction of your career.

What Will You Learn?
This MA programme will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to boost your career prospects in diplomacy, intelligence, international organisations, political risk, government agencies, security sector, NGOs, think tanks, or academia.
You'll delve into the most pressing issues in global politics, such as foreign policy of the key actors, geopolitical shifts, global security challenges, migration, global communications, climate change, human rights and international law.
The course offers a wide range of modules, including a work placement opportunity and dissertation module that trains you to engage in a substantial piece of research and to apply your knowledge and skills in an area of particular interest to you and your career aspirations.
If you secure a suitable placement with an external organisation, you can choose to replace the dissertation with the Work Integrated Learning module. With a particular focus on security, intelligence and diplomatic statecraft, this course combines academic insight with practical learning.
