Course overview
Learn in our first-class TV studio
This course offers you a hands-on practical foundation for all stages of television and digital film production. You will learn about the process from story development through to scriptwriting, pre-production, production and post-production.
You will have the opportunity to work on both multicam TV studio-based shows. Learn by doing and work on a range of single camera productions that will be broadcast on community TV and the internet.
This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other creative, passionate students in the creation of TV shows and short films.
During the year, you will be able to create a comprehensive portfolio of work and a professional resume that will be an asset for employment when you’re finished and certainly impressive to those employing you.
Entry requirements
Melbourne Polytechnic minimum academic level differs depending on the course. Most certificate and diploma level courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or 12, bachelor degree courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 12, and master degree courses require evidence of completion to studies AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent.
If you do not meet Melbourne Polytechnic’s academic entry-level requirements but have acquired skills or knowledge relevant to your chosen course, you may apply as a mature age student. A mature age student is considered to be over 18 years old, and has been out of full-time education for at least one year.
