What is the programme all about?

The Master of Science in Educational Studies offers a research-based and research-oriented programme providing broad expertise in the field of education. You will gain:

• a thorough understanding of several theoretical approaches and methodologies to study, evaluate and discuss educational issues;
• the necessary competencies and skills to conduct educational research, design instruments, develop training modules and curricula, guide and evaluate innovation processes and engage with the historical and global aspects of education
• insight into instructional psychology, intercultural education, school development, professional and continuing education and educational policies.

Through lectures, assignments and research seminars, the experienced teaching staff will provide you with an overview of basic theories and recent developments in the field of educational studies. In your master’s thesis you are given the opportunity to work with KU Leuven professors on their research, helping you to both develop your aptitude for scholarship in the field and to contribute to the field’s body of knowledge at the same time.
