Course overview

KU Leuven's Master of Advanced Studies in Economics programme provides you with theoretical and empirical tools to analyse concrete economic problems and acquaint them with current research practices in economics. For the student with an initial graduate economics degree, this course leads into frontiers of new research within economics.

What is the programme all about?

The advanced master’s programme features a choice of graduate-level courses from different fields within economics. The goal is to enable you to find a promising research topic and to develop your own research on it. This research leads to the Master of Advanced Studies in Economics thesis, which may become the first chapter of a doctoral dissertation.

Structure:

The Master of Advanced Studies in Economics programme (MASE) exists of 5 core courses and the Master’s thesis. Students complete their programme with electives until at least 60 ECTS.

  • The Faculty receives valuable external assessments. The EQUIS accreditation is an important quality label for business schools and is awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
