Course overview

The MSc Psychology (Conversion) Online is designed for graduates who want to gain a strong grounding in psychology while studying fully online. It offers the same academic content and intellectual challenge as our on-campus MSc Psychology, delivered in a flexible format that allows you to balance study with work, family or other commitments.

Whether you are looking to change career, deepen your understanding of psychology, or progress to further study, this course provides the knowledge, research skills and support needed to succeed at postgraduate level.

We are launching this new degree in September 2027. Currently the programme is subject to validation. This means the course is undergoing a rigorous approval process to ensure the content is relevant, meets industry standards and fulfils student needs.

In the meantime, you can register your interest in the course to be kept up to date with the latest course news. You will also be among the first to know when the course opens for applications.

This MSc provides a thorough introduction to the core areas of contemporary psychology, combined with advanced training in research methods and data analysis. You will develop the ability to critically evaluate psychological theories, evidence and methodologies, and understand how research informs practice across a range of psychological contexts.

The course is suitable for graduates from non-psychology backgrounds, as well as those whose previous psychology degree does not meet the academic requirements for further professional training. It is designed to support progression to advanced study in psychology and related disciplines.

Teaching is delivered entirely online through a structured blend of recorded learning materials, guided independent study, online discussions and live sessions. This flexible approach allows you to study from anywhere while remaining connected to experienced academic staff and an active online learning community.
