Course overview
Did you know that the Netherlands is the second largest exporter of vegetables, flowers and other agricultural products? It makes sense, therefore, that other countries would like to learn from our expertise in the field of horticulture. In the English-taught Bachelor’s programme Horticulture & Business Management you will discover the key to the Dutch success and learn all about our technical innovations and production methods. All this is set in an international environment, with students from all over the world.
The English-language Bachelor’s programme Horticulture & Business Management will introduce you to the world of plants and the entire chain from producer to consumer. You will follow technical courses on innovative cultivation techniques, but also learn about management and organisation, national and international trade, marketing and sales.
You can choose between three specialisations:

Entry requirements
The admission requirement for this 4-year Bachelor programme is a secondary school diploma, equivalent to the Dutch HAVO diploma, with the final-year subjects mathematics and chemistry. Practical (work-) experience is beneficial but not obligatory. The level of your diploma will be assessed after HAS has received your complete application form. GCSE in at least 4 subjects (grade A-C) and GCE with at least 2 subjects at advanced subsidiary level (in 6 different subjects).
Specific requirements
- Mathematics and Chemistry should be at least GCSE level.
