About Postgraduate Computing, MSc - at Griffith College
Griffith College Dublin, in association with the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC), has designed this academic course to give graduates the opportunity to contribute to Ireland's growing prominence as a centre for technological innovation.
Aims & Objectives
This M.Sc. degree has been designed to give students an indepth understanding of a number of actively researched computing areas. It gives students access to the exciting world of research while allowing them to study a number of topics in great detail.
Students who complete this Masters will have the skills necessary to research and master technical issues and present findings in a coherent and analytical manner. On completion of the M.Sc. programme, graduates will have:
- Learned how to collect, analyse and present research findings in a professional manner.
- Mastered the skills necessary to undertake a software development project and bring it to completion.
- The ability to research and master technical issues and present findings in a coherent and analytical manner.
- The ability to document, at a level befitting a professional, the complete project life-cycle from requirements acquisition to product testing.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The awareness necessary to become a skilled reflective practitioner.

Duration
Full -time: 1 academic year
Part-time: 1 calendar year - 3 semesters

- Algorithm Design and Analysis
Semester 2
- Concurrent and Parallel Programming
- Communication Security
- Information Retrieved and Web Search
- Collaborative Distributed Systems
Upon completing the two semester, students that wishes to continue will be undertaking the MSc dissertation and will be awarded with the MSc award. Students also have the option of exiting after the two semester and will be awarded with a PostGraduate Diploma.

The course is designed with major input from the computing industry. It is therefore focused to meet employment opportunities within the computing industry
