About UET60222 Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems (Australia and New Zealand only), Advanced Diploma - at Engineering Institute of Technology

This course will commence by explaining the concept of energy storage and its significance in electrical power systems. Additionally, the working principal and applications of the main types of energy storage technologies, including mechanical, electrochemical and electrical energy storage systems, will be discussed to get deep understanding of the main characteristics of these systems.

Adding to this, the integration, performance and safety of battery systems will be reviewed. Furthermore, some special types of energy storage, including chemical, thermal and gravitational storage plants, will be studied. Towards the end, grid scale energy storage systems will be discussed to investigate the significance of energy storage on a large scale within an electrical power grid.
